The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust has donated an average of HK$1.6 billion to the community every year over the past decade by way of its own major initiatives and donations, supporting projects of well over 100 charitable groups and organisations each year. These encompass ten major areas; namely, Arts, Culture & Heritage, Education & Training, Elderly Services, Emergency & Poverty Relief, Environmental Protection, Family Services, Medical & Health, Rehabilitation Services, Sports & Recreation, and Youth Development.

In 2013/14, the total approved charitable donations were over HK$3.6 billion, an increase of 85% on the previous year. The approved donations benefited 168 charities and community projects.

For over half a century, The University of Hong Kong’s close partnership with the Trust has enhanced its ability to strive for excellence in education, scholarship, and research.
